When Nigel, Earl of Marshwood plans to marry Hollywood star Miranda Frayle he finds that the news is less than enthusiastically received
by his mother the Countess and her personal maid Moxie who reveals that Miranda is her estranged sister. The arrival of Miranda’s
former lover complicates matters further but Crestwell the butler comes up with a plan to save the day.
A satire of snobbery in all
its guises “Relative Values” deals with the clash of cultures between Hollywood stars and the English Aristocracy and as Crestwell
observes “the ancient and inaccurate assumption that, as we are equal in the eyes of God, we should be equal in the eyes of
our fellow creatures.”
